What SPF moisturizer do you use?
Throughout my 12 years as an Aesthetician for MFX Salon, I am often asked about product recommendations for skin and body care. I stand by Aveda 100% because I truly believe in the company as a whole and that they strive to produce the best products on the market.
One of the most requested product recommendations that I get is which SPF, Oil-Free Moisturizer I use or can't stand to not have on my bathroom counter. At the present time, the only SPF moisturizer Aveda offers is a Sheer Mineral Tinted Moisturizer, oil-free, SPF 15 and retails for $28. I feel that unless you have fair skin, the moisturizer can leave a sheer hint of white residue from the Titanium Dioxide(4.3%), especially if you are exercising. Besides that, it is a light moisturizer that leaves a dewy finish to the skin.
Juice Beauty sells a CC cream called Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream and retails for $39.00. It provides SPF 30 and is Certified Organic and gluten free. When I tried the CC Cream, I loved how it absorbed into my skin very easily and dried a matte finish, without the white residue. It does come in two shades and the certified organic ingredients are plant based. You can pick this product up at Ulta or online at www.juicebeauty.com
For my third recommendation, I have also tried Andalou Naturals BB Cream, retails for $19.95. It helps with oil control, and is untinted with SPF 30. Andalou Naturals is also Gluten Free and Vegan. The product line is also at least 70% certified organic and non-GMO. The zinc oxide is naturally derived that also provides UVA/UVB protection. The CC cream is a little on the creamy side, so it does take a little work to apply the moisturizer evenly. It appears to have a white tint when first applied, but it quickly absorbs into the skin. You can view this product along with the rest of their skin care line at www.andalou.com.
There are obviously several spf moisturizers on the market these days, but these are three that I have tried and have either loved or disliked them...the important thing is to always wear sunscreen, especially in the summer months. Reapply often, especially after swimming or exercising, and wear a hat when you can to provide more protection. I'd love to hear back about your favorite spf/oil-free moisturizer...I'm always on the lookout for a new one to try!
